‘Wording It Otherwise’
a collective diary on pandemic memory
ANOUSKA KOBUS
Existing as hybrid beings,
Between online and offline spheres,
We have been separated, yet increasingly connected.
Our memories have become entities flowing in cyberspace,
Re-circling and re-creating themselves over and over again,
Created together, yet individually.
A web of interconnected pandemic memories crowds our minds,
With no exit in sight, they are trapped,
In desperate need of an outlet, they burst into words.
Words have agency,
They construct worlds, open up thoughts and feelings,
Heal our hearts and archive memories for future references.
Creating a participatory diary,
We aim to share our experiences of the past year,
Collectively reclaiming our past lives in post-pandemic space.
