The project ‘In a Hand of a Hand’ is an attempt to capture the intimate relationships between people and their smartphones. Initially, starting with my own hand, participants were asked to bring a photo up on their screen, one which has captured the phone and a hand of another, continuously building up and leaving traces within the phone memory of each new participant. An original photo of my own hand and a smartphone continued to move and transfer through the people I met. The traces of my memory got stronger as they accumulated in the phones of more and more participants, later creating an image in which the original is barely recognisable.
